Model of Care Advantages

Greater Access to a Wider Range of Healthcare

Through our Model of Care, the range of healthcare available to Soldiers and their Families extends beyond Fort Drum into the surrounding community. The community offers access to specialty centers, additional primary care practices, behavioral health facilities, urgent care, and five hospitals. Continuity of Care

Qualified, certified medical professionals care for Soldiers, their Families, and civilian community members whether they receive care at Fort Drum or in the community. In fact, over 95% of local physicians are TRICARE-credentialed. The surrounding community functions like an extended Military Treatment Facility for Fort Drum beneficiaries. Our community partners interact with the military system providing seamless, streamlined healthcare.

Exceptional, Proven Medical Attention

The care provided at healthcare facilities in our Model of Care meets or surpasses similar institutions. For example, the 750+ babies born to 10th Mountain Division Soldiers each year exceed both state and national standards for healthy birth outcomes.

Convenient Access to the Healthcare Services You Need

Our Model of Care was created to be flexible, incorporating healthcare services into the Model as Soldiers, their Families, and civilian community members need them. Our Model of Care connects you with the health services you and your family need. And while many healthcare services are available on Installation, community partners are conveniently located nearby.
