Health Career Army Pathways Program (HCAPP)
Are you a military spouse or dependent (over 18 years of age), a Reserve Soldier, or a Soldier transitioning out of the military and looking for a new career in a rapidly growing industry?
A career in HEALTHCARE may be just what you’re looking for.
Whether you know that healthcare is what you want to do, or if you would like to find out, the Health Career Army Pathways Program (HCAPP) provides an opportunity to explore the many facets of healthcare to determine what is the best fit for you. HCAPP supports your transition from a military career to one in healthcare by connecting you to the resources you need to be successful.
In partnership with local hospitals, HCAPP opportunities can be tailored to your background and interests to provide a virtual job shadow online platform, even if you have no background in healthcare. Explore traditional and non-traditional healthcare jobs while you’re transitioning.
Health Career Army Pathways is a collaboration between Fort Drum’s Army Career Skills Program and the Fort Drum Regional Health Planning Organization. It is made possible with funding from the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation whose mission is to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable New Yorkers, bolster the health outcomes of diverse communities, eliminate barriers to care, and bridge gaps in health services.
Applications are currently being accepted for these upcoming 12-week programs: March 3 - May 12, 2023 & August 25 - November 3, 2023.
Transitioning Soldiers can inquire and apply through the Army Career Skills Program. Call or email Wendy Brown, 315-774-3410, email@example.com or Lorilei Matteson, 315-772-1022, firstname.lastname@example.org.
In an effort to increase awareness of health careers in high demand, FDRHPO has made available a series of informational brochures and flyers, called “Health Career Close-Ups.”
These materials highlight different healthcare careers, including information on: work environment, pay, education requirements, and local educational programs. Click on any of the images below for more information about these exciting healthcare professions! They are also downloadable for your use electronically or in print format. We add new professions regularly, so please check back if there’s something that you’re interested in that is not listed. If you have a specific request for a Career Close-up on a certain profession that is not shown here, please email our workforce team!
