Temporary Burn Diversion at Clark Burn Center

Please be advised that the Clark Burn Center will be on diversion for incoming burn transfers during the following period:

Begins: Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 7:00 AM.

Ends: Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at 7:00 AM.

During this diversion period:

  • Incoming burn transfers will not be accepted and should be directed to an appropriate surrounding burn center.

  • Current hospitalized burn patients will continue to receive care and will be rounded on by Trauma staff according to the Amion schedule.

  • Burn patients who present directly to the Upstate Emergency Department will be evaluated and stabilized as appropriate.

  • Patients presenting to our ED who have burn injuries requiring prompt operative intervention will need to be transferred to an appropriate surrounding burn center for definitive burn surgical care.

  • EMS agencies, referring hospitals, and the Transfer Center should plan accordingly and coordinate burn transfers with alternative burn centers during this period.

Please ensure that this information is communicated to all relevant personnel, including transfer center staff and other affected clinical teams.

We appreciate your cooperation and assistance in maintaining safe and timely care for patients with burn injuries during this temporary diversion period.
