UVM HealthNet Transport Grand Rounds: Pediatric DKA: Managing it in transport … without making it worse

Pediatric DKA is one of those high‑risk, low‑frequency calls where small missteps can make a big difference. This month’s UVM HealthNet Transport Grand Rounds brings you a session designed specifically to help EMS and transport clinicians manage these patients safely and confidently.

The talk, Pediatric DKA: Managing it in transport … without making it worse,” will be led by L.T. Arnold, MHM, BSN, RN, CCRN, CFRN, C‑NPT, EMT, a highly experienced flight nurse with more than 16 years of critical care transport across ground, fixed‑wing, and rotor‑wing platforms. Arnold is particularly passionate about pediatric and neonatal education, focusing on helping non‑specialist providers develop practical, confidence‑building approaches.

Arnold's background spans 911 dispatch, fire/EMS, ED care, and pediatric/neonatal critical care at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital, making this an exceptional learning opportunity for EMS crews of all levels.
