New York State Department of Health Seeks Additional Nominations for the 2026 Educational Innovation Award

The New York State Department of Health, Division of State Emergency Medical Services, is announcing an extended call for nominations for the 2026 Educational Innovation Award, recognizing outstanding advancements in EMS education across New York State.

Course Sponsors throughout the state continue to implement progressive, forward‑thinking approaches that strengthen Emergency Medical Services training. These innovations—ranging from new education delivery models to enhanced student experiences and expanded community involvement—are driving measurable improvements and advancing the EMS profession.

Award Focus: Educational Innovation

The Educational Innovation Award highlights exceptional achievements in:

• Educational delivery models

• Student experience enhancements

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for nomination:

• Nominee must be a New York State Course Sponsor

• All submissions must comply with New York State Public Health Law Article 30 and Title 10 of the New York Code Rules and Regulations

• Submissions not meeting these criteria will be deemed ineligible

  
  

Submission Information

Applications for the NYS EMS Awards may be submitted through the official awards portal. Educators, administrators, and EMS leaders are encouraged to nominate Course Sponsors who demonstrate leadership and innovation in EMS education.

Extended Deadline

Although the original July 1 deadline has passed, additional nominations are being accepted through End of Day July 27.
